For more information, review my approach to individual counseling for depression, anxiety and trauma and the principles that guide it. These distressing conditions can limit your capacity for personal growth, forming lasting relationships and achieving your goals.
In couples and marriage counseling I work with you and your partner to restore and enrich your relationship. If you decide that is not possible, then I work with you to end it on the very best of terms; something I consider particularly important when children are affected.
I am guided by an integrative philosophy that draws on all the major schools of psychology. I provide options that include evidence based practices for depression, anxiety and trauma. My counseling philosophy and approach is grounded in compassion, mutual respect and trust.
To learn about important values that I embrace see my Values page. For other therapists in Seattle that share these values in varying degrees visit Counseling Seattle.

I think of people that come for counseling/therapy as being out of synch in some important way with their life circumstances. They are struggling with an interpersonal issue or they may be using repetitious ways of living that once served them, but that are now problematic and self-limiting. Adverse effects of trauma experiences, including childhood abuse and domestic violence, may be affecting their ability to respond appropriately to otherwise normal events. Any of these can result in distress such as depression or anxiety.
I offer strategies and support for personal growth, relieving depression, managing anxiety and healing from trauma so you can live fully and with greater confidence.
